YA'LL SAID YOU WOULD READ THIS!

So about a year and a half ago I posted the following on my Facebook and asked for responses. I got a lot so I figured I would have some readers. It's taken me this long to get anything up and going. First let me say as a Disclaimer that I tried to do this blog on my own and I AM NOT tech savvy! Yes, it's a blog format but trust me, they still don't make it easy. I knew my daughter could do it faster but I didn't want to depend on her so I figured I had to learn how to do it myself. In the end, it was a hot mess so I got some help and it was all formatted for me in a day or so. Some things just aren't worth the stress! I'm going to start with some posts I have done on Facebook so if it sounds familiar that's why. I'm hoping to do the most current and work backwards. Any newer posts will be at the top Some are very short, which won't be typical of any future posts; I just wanted to save those as part of the blog for personal reasons. I hope readers will enjoy some of my posts but this is also a way to share with my granddaughters about myself and my experiences, even after I'm gone.
This was my Facebook post on February 4, 2025 So I’m throwing something out there and hoping people will give me some feedback. I started a blog about 10 years ago and did about 6 posts including “Good Cop, Bad Cop” “Big Brother’s Birthday” and “When you don’t fit the Mormon mold.” The name of the blog was “Mama Said There’d be Days Like This”. I finally found it online and let’s just say 10 years changes a lot of things. Randy was diagnosed with CNSBL just days after my last post so that went by the wayside. My cousin Lori Jensen, who by the way is a very gifted artist and writer, has encouraged me to write a book. Another friend, also gifted and has actually written a book, Tina Garcia, replies to almost anything I post with “you need to write a book.” My life until retirement centered around family, work, and church. I seriously didn’t have time to try new things. I always concluded that I didn’t have anything that I was good at. I liked to speak and write and teach when opportunities presented themselves. I’m one of the few people who liked giving talks in church. But that’s not really something I thought was a gift or talent. Since retiring I have tried some new things; pickleball, hiking, 4 weeks of square dancing, and plants to name a few and guess what? I’m not good at any of them. I’m not being modest when I say that. It’s a fact. I do not excel at any one thing. And I have family and friends with some mad talents and skills (cooking, sewing. drawing, quilting, decorating, crafts, gardening, etc.). I even have two granddaughters learning how to speak Spanish❤️ My current skills revolve around TikTok and binging a whole show in no time flat! I do like to write but a book is impossible. I started giving the idea of a blog again (do people still do these?). I have not had a life much different than most people but I have had some interesting experiences, many of them work related. I have the experience of caring for a sick husband with dementia for five years before he passed away. I have been on a different journey recently of finding meaning and peace for myself And I have opinions about things! (Bet no one knew that!) I am actually starting to think of my life by how many years I have left. How many new things I can try. How many new things I can fail at. How much time and influence I can have as a Gigi with my 4 beautiful granddaughters. So this is all to say: if I wrote a blog would anyone read it? Don’t feel bad if you’re thinking probably not. I am just wondering what my audience would be. The posts will probably be all over the place. And if no one reads it, it will be something I can leave for my children and grandchildren.

You are a good writer! This will be fun for you to write and fun for others to read! And one day we will print them all out and make a book of it!
